TW Harris Guestbook

Thank you for visiting our pages. We would love to have you ADD your comments to our guestbook.
Because of recent problems with spammers and other bad people entries will only be viewable after I review and ok them.
Please be patient.

I am not part of the Harris clan - just an ol' boy from Taber. We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with Marion and Mindy and he told me about this site so I came to visit. It was fun to read and see some familiar names and I particularly enjoyed the family picture on your home page. We have family websites for various family lines and they are a great way to keep in touch. Good luck. I'll come back to visit again.

I met a lot of the descendents of TW Harris in Canada when I attended the Harris Family Seminar in Taber on July 4th. I have written a 150-page history of Robert Harris, Jr, and if anyone would like a copy, it is available. Send five dollars to Darryl Harris Harris Publishing, Inc. 360 B Street Idaho Falls ID 83402 I have also written a church history novel, based on the life of Robert Harris, Daniel Browett (his brother-in-law), and their wives. It is called LIGHT & TRUTH, and is the story about how Wilford Woodruff converted the United Brethren congregation in England. The cost of the book, 530 pages, is $20, plus $5 shipping, $25 total. More information is available at harrispublishing.com.

Posted by Heather Lobban (24.70.95.203) on May 05, 2004 at 00:41:03: It was so great to find this site at last. Mom mentioned one time that there was a T.W. Harris site. Just looking through brought back so many memories that I have and will always cherish. One of the fun memories I have is of Marion driving the little tractor that was often used for the irrigation pipes, and of Melissa, Bob and I sitting on the pipes, hanging on for dear life as Marion drove the tractor. Other memories, and there are many, are of all the Harris's along Harris Road, of spending so much time with my Grandpa and Nana Harris, Uncle Roy's family, Uncle Witt and Aunt Em and Randy, Sandy, Blake, Keitha and being at Garth and Betty's place with Renee and Diane. Often, I am not able to get away to see my family or to go to family reunions, even though I am in Edmonton. However, you are all in my thoughts and my heart always. I sometimes drive my sons' nuts when I recall different memories of the times I spent growing up with you all in Taber, but those times were special times. Any time that we can get together is a special time. Let me know when the next reunion is and to all that have e-mail, please send me your addresses. Sometimes I feel cut off from family and relatives and would love to stay in touch.
So happy to read this site and to look at the pictures. I especially enjoyed readking about Robert Harris Jr. and the others. Would love to see more pictures of everyone...I guess that means I should be brave and get updated ones of myself, Michael and Paul and my granddaughter Kayla (Michael's daughter). Keep up the good work Marion...this site is great!

Just found this web site. Very Nice. My grandmother (Ruth Stella Boyson Peterson) was Emma Boyson Harris' sister. I have and old letter (dated 1949) from Ruth to my father Gerald Bruce Peterson talking about Aunt Em and Uncle Wit and talking about Brent visiting for the summer before school returns in September 1949. Is that Brent still with us? Would love to get in touch with anyone who has information about Ruth Stella Boyson and the (her) Peterson side of the family. John

Neat site, great idea! My dad has a copy of the same picture on the home page. Bumpy is my great grandfather and I remember visiting him in Taber lots when I was a kid. I also remember seeing Uncle Blake there a lot as well. He used to try and freak us kids out with his short, stubby finger-the one that was cut off!

I found this site and I must admit that I have a very talented brother, you did a fantastic job Marion.... starting this familyweb.memories has quite the good feeling to this and when you are interested in going home this is a great thing to do...I see alot has to be done especially when you pop up your own name and there is nothing written. to Carlie ...my how the years have gone by and thinking about Blake was ironic. I came across some things, like memory things, about Blake for all of my five children. When they were born he would either come to the hospital or to the house on on the farm and always brought me flowers and a toy... he just loved my kids and came to visit on a regular bases. He was a very unique person with alot of heart felt feelings. For Kristen Ackerman, hey there cuz would love to hear from you. don't get to Lethbridge anymore, working is cutting into my life so much etc. For those people out there that don't know, I am the second youngest of Roy and Eva Harris and I lay fame to my brother marion who works hard at this web page...for any of you that use to enjoy the family reunions down at the Taber park when we were kids I remember the most about how right it felt to belong to such a massive amount of relatives. We always thought would always be around.... the world has increased in numbers but it is hard to realize how many have left us...that is why memories are so important ...have a great day..Leann

I just had to visit this site again because every day I bring up the T.W. Harris family picture on my website, and every day I look at Uncle Harold's picture and say to myself "THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY BROTHER, BLAKE!" So I just wanted to share that thought with those of you who might remember my brother. It's nice to read short comments from all of you but I especially like hearing the short stories and memories about our family. So I'll share one of my memories with you. I remember the days when we would have family reunions at Bumpy and Nanny's (Wit & Em's) house - (remember the old farmhouse?) or later, in the church basement. It seems like everybody had their little "act" that was required at each reunion - do you remember the "uncles" performing the "Chinese Laundlee" act, with nylon stockings over their faces to pull their eyes back and give them an Asian appearance. Oh, how incredibly politically incorrect that act would be now, but how absolutely SCREAMINGLY FUNNY!! it was then! The uncles just seemed to play off of each other, ad libbing as they went along. I'm sure at my tender age I missed many of the jokes but I enjoyed watching my uncles and grandfather get silly as they did their annual "act." Aunt Laverne used to tell the "Mary Had a Little Lamb" story, in which she impersonated several different grade-school personalities - the arrogant little girl, the weepy little girl, and so on - as they recited "Mary Had a Little Lamb." AND DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER THE YEAR THAT BRENT DANCED AND MIMED "Santa Baby"???? There he was, dressed up in a harem outfit (part of which I still think he 'borrowed' from MY closet) - with his face veiled, his eyelashes fluttering, and his hips undulating!! What an event that was! I especially remember Babe Ackerman's wide eyes and flabbergasted look! We really used to have a good time. After our family moved to Salem, and I grew up and eventually moved to California, I stopped attending the family reunions. So it was especially grand to go to another one this year - at age 55 mind you! IT's been too long, and I plan to come to the next reunion, for sure, with both daughters and (so far) SIX grandchildren in tow! In the meantime, let's keep adding to this page and getting to know each other. I'm living in Portland, Oregon now (my company transferred me here two years ago). I'm a CPA, working in the Internal Audit department of PG&E, which is a San Francisco-based utility company. One of my daughters, D'ana, lives in Cambridge, Mass with her 3 sons. The other daughter, Staci, lives in Lehi, Utah with a daughter, a son, and an unknown (due New Year's Eve!). Keep in touch! See you at the next reunion! HUGS - Carlie

Holy Doodle, Marion! You get top marks for this brilliant use of 'puter & WP which will enable all our family to come to know each other better (or at all). Thanks, dewd! I just hope I can see through my tears to write something intelligible. Seeing the TW Harris family group photo (especially Uncle Melvin, & Uncle Roy - he ROCKED) just overwhelmed me with the critical need to pursue our genealogy! If some (many?) of you are scratchin' your heads I'm Thelma Harris' son. My mom is the eldest daughter of Wilford & Emma Harris & I know Mom would want her love sent out to you all! It so warmed my heart to see Carlie's (Stillman) comments here. I just wish (more than anyone will ever know) that Robert (Miller), Aunt Anne & Uncle Doug's son could add his. Howard (Westhora) when I fly out to Portland in October wanna go steal some watermelons off the back of a truck with me like we used to do in Taber after our night shift at Cornwall Canning Co.? ::laughin'::God bless us, Everyone!Brent xx

Reading this page has brought back a lot of memories for me. We are getting anxious to see everyone at the family reunion. Mom, Loreen Ackerman, is doing really good and is also excited to see everyone. Thanks for getting this started Marion!! As we were out to Ann and Bryan's a few weeks ago, sitting in that house brought back many memories of being there when Aunt Emma and Uncle Wit lived there. When Aunt Emm would give us ice cream and cantelope, she would always lean over us and say "I'm sorry honey, but I cant-e-lope. I can also remember going out there and riding the horses with Keitha - after Uncle Wit had taken them for a little ride to get them ready for us "real cowgirls".
